Ford Motor worst quarterly result in 14 years

Ford Motors will have to act quickly to stay liquid. In their latest report, they are selling their ultra-luxury Aston Martin business and a $5.98 billion loss for this year’s third quarter.

With Ford Motor reporting its worst quarterly results in 14 years on Monday, there was a growing sense that the auto giant will need to take drastic steps to stay liquid as it struggles to turn itself around. The company has said that its ultra-luxury Aston Martin business is for sale, and it is believed to be seeking buyers for Land Rover and Jaguar as well. Ford reported a $5.8 billion loss for the third quarter, as well as a $593 million pretax loss at its Premier Automotive Group, which includes Jaguar, Land Rover, Volvo and Aston Martin. In a research note, a Merrill Lynch analyst said the Premier loss "highlights the need to rationalize" the brands in the group, The Chicago Tribune reported. "Ford can do two things: borrow more money and sell assets" to buy time until their operations problems are fixed, John Casesa, a longtime auto industry analyst, told The New York Times.

I, for one, would prefer to buy a Toyota Fortuner than spend more on a Ford automobile. Toyota cars are cheaper and parts are always available. If Ford can only lower their price there would be lots of everyday motorists who are dying to ride a Ford car :)

Smart, Globe and other mobile service providers watch out.

Jajah a voip company has just announced a killer consumer service that will let many cell phone users access Jajah’s very low calling rates through their cell phone. How low are these calling rates? Well, like eBay’s Skype, Jajah users connect to other Jajah users for free. But Skype isn’t available from your cell phone. Before, you had to be in front of your computer to use any VoIP service, which is why we continue to pay for such ridiculously expensive calling plans from cell carriers like Smart and Globe. But now, their worst nightmare has become a reality, as Jajah’s new app can be downloaded directly to your cell phone. Here’s how it works. First, you must become a registered Jajah user. Then you have to have a supported phone (BlackBerrys, Windows Mobile and Treo phones are forthcoming). Once you download the Java app and configure the software, Jajah will handle certain types of calls (like international ones) instead of your carrier. The app literally routes the call to its own local number, moves it over VoIP to its destination, and calls the recipient via a local number where they are located. Founder Roman Scharf says the carriers can’t block this process because Jajah doesn’t use the data services included with many newer phones. Instead, the app re-routes calls through normal telephone lines. The whole transaction is seamless from the caller and receiver’s point of view. And it’s free–if both caller and receiver are Jajah users. Otherwise, calls are subject to incredibly low rates. So what are you waiting for start using this incredible service now. Refer to this page to register and know if your cell phone is supported.

A 10 year old boy, had eaten pineapple about 15 days back, and fell sick, from the day he had eaten. Later when he had his health check done… doctors diagnosed that he had AIDS. His parents couldn’t believe it… Then the entire family under went a check-up… none of them suffered from Aids. So the doctors checked again with the boy if he had eaten out…The boy said "yes". He had pineapple that evening. Immediately a group from Malaya Hospital went to the pineapple vendor to check. They found the pineapple seller had a cut on his finger while cutting the pineapple, his blood had spread into the fruit. When they had his blood checked…the guy was suffering from AIDS….. but he himself was NOT aware. Unfortunately the boy is suffering from it now. Please take care while you eat on the road side. Inlove awww!

Friends I know that is not the love month yet but I say that love doesn’t have to be seasonal. My wife forwarded me this email and I want to share this with you, especially the guys.  Man, love your woman because by loving them they will love you more. Capetch? now read em…

1. I love you not because of who you are, but because of who I am when
     I am with you..

2. No man or woman is worth your tears, and the one who is, won’t make
     you cry.

3. Just because someone doesn’t love you the way you want them to,
doesn’t mean they don’t love you with all they have.

4. A true friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your
     heart.

5. The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right beside them
     knowing you can’t have them.

6. Never frown, even when you are sad, because you never know who is
falling in love with your smile.

7. To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the
     world.

8. Don’t waste your time on a man/woman, who isn’t willing to waste
     their time on you.

9. Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the
right one, so that when we finally meet the person, we will know how to
     be grateful.

10. Don’t cry because it is over, smile because it happened.

11. There’s always going to be people that hurt you,  so what you have to
do is keep on trusting and just be more careful about who you trust next
     time around.

12. Make yourself a better person and know who you are before you try
and know someone else and expect them to know you.

13. Don’t try so hard, the best things come when you least expect them to.

An Angel says, "Never borrow from the future.  If you worry about what may happen tomorrow and it doesn’t happen, you have worried in vain.  Even if it does happen, you have to worry twice."
 1. Pray
 2. Go to bed on time.
 3. Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed.
 4. Say No to projects that won’t fit into your time schedule, or that will compromise your  mental   health.
 5. Delegate tasks to capable others.
 6. Simplify and unclutter your life.
 7. Less is more. (Although one is often not enough,  !  two are often too many.)

 9. Pace yourself.  Spread out big changes and difficult   projects over time; don’t lump the hard things all together.
10. Take one day at a time.
11. Separate worries from concerns.  If a situation is a concern, find out what God would have you do and let go of the anxiety.   If you can’t do anything about  a situation, forget it.
12. Live within your budget; don’t use credit cards for ordinary purchases.
13. Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet, an extra house key buried in the garden, extra stamps, etc.

All work and no play

A long time ago, there was an Emperorwho told his horsemanthat if he couldride on his horse and cover as much land area as he likes, then the Emperor would give him the area of land he has covered.

Sure enough, the horseman quickly jumped onto his horse and rode as fast as possible to cover as much land area as he could.  He kepton riding and riding, whipping the horse to go as fast as possible. When he was hungry or tired, he did not stop because he wanted to cover as much area as possible.

Came to a point when he had covered a substantial area and he was exhausted and was dying. Then he asked himself,  "Why did I push myself so hard to cover so much land area? Now I am dying and I only need a very small area to bury myself."

The above story is similar with the journey of our Life. We push very hard everyday to make more money, to gain power and recognition. We neglect our health , time with our family and to appreciate the surrounding beauty and the hobbies we love.

One day when we look back, we will realize that we don’t really need that much , but then we cannot turn back time for what we have missed.

Life is not about making money, acquiring power or recognition. Life is definitely not about work! Work is only necessaryto keep us living so as to enjoy the beauty and pleasures of life. Life is a balance of Work and Play, Family and Personal time. You have to decide how you want to balance your Life. Define your priorities, realize what you are able to compromise but always let some of your decisions be based on your instincts.  Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of Life, the whole aim of human existence.

So, take it easy, do what you want to do and appreciate nature. Life is fragile, Life is short. Do not take Life for granted. Live a balanced lifestyle and enjoy Life!

Watch your thoughts they become words.

Watch your words they become actions.

Watch your actions they become habits.

Watch your habits; they become character

Watch your character; it becomes your destiny
